Psalm 138
1 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods I will sing your praise. 2 I will bow down toward your holy temple and praise your name, because of your love and faithfulness; 3 For you have glorified your name and your word above all things. 4 When I called, you answered me; you increased my strength within me. 5 All the kings of the earth will praise you, O Lord, when they have heard the words of your mouth. 6 They will sing of the ways of the Lord, that great is the glory of the Lord. 7 Though the Lord be high, he cares for the lowly; he perceives the haughty from afar. 8 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you keep me safe; you stretch forth your hand against the fury of my enemies; your right hand shall save me. 9 The Lord will make good his purpose for me; O Lord, your love endures for ever; do not abandon the works of your hands. God of creation and fulfilment, help us to seek and discover your purposes, that we may become willing instruments of your grace, and that all the world may come to love and praise your name, in the kingdom of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen |

He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. |

I am reminded When the light of God is upon us, we need his guidance remember that great hymn:
Guide me, O thou great Jehovah Pilgrim through this barren land I am weak but thou art mighty Hold me with thy powerful Hand Bread of heaven, bread of heaven feed me till I want no more Feed me till I want no more Open now the crystal fountain Whence the healing stream doth flow Let the fire and cloudy pillar Lead me all my journey through. Stung deliverer, strong deliverer Be thou still my strength and shield, be thou still my strength and shield When I tread the verge of Jordan Bid my anxious fear subside Death of death and hell’s destruction Land me safe on Canaan’s side Songs of praises, songs of praises I will ever give to thee, I will ever give to thee Yours in His service, Genny |

Genesis 21:1-7 The Birth of Isaac
21 The Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did to Sarah as he had promised. 2 And Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age at the time of which God had spoken to him. 3 Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore him, Isaac. 4 And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him. 5 Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him. 6 And Sarah said, “God has made laughter for me; everyone who hears will laugh over me.” 7 And she said, “Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age.” |
Peace with God Through Faith
5 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. 6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. |

The Harvest Is Plentiful, the Laborers Few
35 And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; 38 therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” The Twelve Apostles 10 And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. 2 The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles 5 These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, 6 but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay. |
Gospel: John 14: 15-21
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit 15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever-- 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” |

APRIL 26, 2020
Sentence Lord, you are indeed the Saviour of the world. Give us living water, that we may not thirst. Collect Almighty God, whose Son Jesus Christ gives the water of eternal life, may we always thirst for you, the spring of life and source of goodness; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. First Reading: Acts 2.14a,36-41 Psalm 116.1-3,10-17 1 I love the Lord, because he has heard the voice of my supplication, because he has inclined his ear to me whenever I called upon him. 2 The cords of death entangled me; the grip of the grave took hold of me; * I came to grief and sorrow. 3 Then I called upon the name of the Lord: * “O Lord, I pray you, save my life.” 10 How shall I repay the Lord * for all the good things he has done for me? 11 I will lift up the cup of salvation * and call upon the name of the Lord. 12 I will fulfil my vows to the Lord * in the presence of all his people. 13 Precious in the sight of the Lord * is the death of his servants. 14 O Lord, I am your servant; * I am your servant and the child of your handmaid; you have freed me from my bonds. 15 I will offer you the sacrifice of thanksgiving * and call upon the name of the Lord. 16 I will fulfil my vows to the Lord * in the presence of all his people. 17 In the courts of the Lord’s house, * in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah! Eternal God, faithful in your tender compassion, you give us hope for our life here and hereafter through the victory of your only Son. When we share his cup of salvation, revive in us the joy of this everlasting gift. We ask his in his name. Second Reading: 1Peter 1.17-23 Gospel: Luke 24.13-35 |

Easter Sunday

Rev. Genny Rollins Easter words:Proper’s.
Jeremiah 31. 1-6 ` Psalm 118,1-2,14-24 Colossians 3,1-4 Mt. 28,1-10 I wondered why I loved the King James translation of scripture so much until today when I read it in this section from Matthew. The truth of the word just leapt off the pages and seemed to crash into my heart. Saturday the Jewish people were not allowed to do anything, it was the sabbath. That’s why they went and ask Pilate... as we read in: Matthew Chapter 27 57 When the evening come, there came a rich man from Arimathaea named Joseph who also himself was Jesus disciple. 58 He went to Pilate and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the Body to be delivered. 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid it in his own new tomb. Joseph lovingly placed the body of Jesus in His own new tomb. And he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre and departed and there was Mary Magdalene and the other Mary sitting over against the sepulchre. The other Mary mentioned here was Mary the mother of James and Joses and the mother of the sons of Zebedee. These women watched as Jesus was put in the tomb and they would know where to find Him Easter morning when the sabbath would be passed and they would be allowed to come to see if he was still there. Imagine how they must have wandered through out Saturday and Saturday night, who would roll the stone away so they could wrap his body with the spices they had prepared what was the practise for burial? Would they have a funeral? Many questions must have run through their minds as they waited. And the chief priests and pharisees what were they doing. So, we read in verse Matthew 27:62 Now the next day that followed, the day of preparation, the chief priests and pharisees came together unto Pilate. (This being Saturday) And Saturday being the sabbath the Jewish people could do no work And telling Pilate to remember Jesus saying that "after three days I will rise again" and to make sure that didn’t, that Jesus could not get out of the tomb to let his people think this had happened, they would seal the tomb and place guards there. They sealed the tomb which I was able to discover by stringing a cord across the rock. The cord being sealed at each end with clay, and guards to make sure no one else moved the stone away from the entrance to the tomb. Chapter 28: Verses 1-10 Morning of the day after Sabbath finally came and the two Mary’s come to the sepulchre. Do you feel their excitement as they come, it is still not bright outside and as they come near to the sepulchre there is an earthquake and the ground trembles beneath their feet? They see two angels come down from heaven and they roll away the stone, the two guards are frozen they cannot move so great is the fear in them. The two angels are from the Lord and their faces are like lightening and their garments as white as snow. But just see the two Mary’s astounded, hopeful, surprised the angel quickly says to them “Fear not ye”, for I know that ye seek Jesus which was Crucified.” “He is not here, for he is risen as he said”. Come, see the place where the Lord lay”. Their fear is gone, Jesus is risen the angel tells them to go and tell the disciples and they left the sepulchre. And as they left to go tell the disciples, Behold Jesus met them saying "All Hail". And they came and held him by the feet and worshipped him. What a message given to us at this point in time: They came seeking Jesus, We have come seeking Jesus. He met them. He will meet us. Do, you feel like kneeling down and holding his feet and worshipping him? I do! He is our answer Do not fear, God is in control, trust Him. Whatever happens We have sought him. He will meet us, Alleluia! Christ has risen. He is with us! May the Joy of knowing there is an everlasting love, which overshadows this world God made, bless you and Trust in Him and do your part to care for this world and each and everyone in it. And may the peace of God which passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord and may the blessing of God almighty, Father, Son and Holy Spirit be with you and remain with you forever. Amen. Have a happy and blessed and safe Easter. Love Genny |

I hid not my face from shame and spitting Matt:21:5 Tell the daughters of Zion Behold thy king cometh unto thee meek and sitting upon an ass and a colt the foal of an ass. Matt; 21:9 And the multitude that went before and that followed cried, “saying, “Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is He that cometh in the name of The Lord Hosanna in the highest” 1a) Weak and wounded sinner. Lost and left to die. O raise your head for love is passing by And come to Jesus, come to Jesus, Come to Jesus and Live. Mt.26:27 And He took the cup and gave thanks and gave it to them saying. “Drink ye all of it, for this is my blood of the new covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Mt.26:30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of olives 2a) Now your burdens lifted And carried far away And precious blood has washed away the stain. So, sing to Jesus, sing to Jesus, sing to Jesus and live. Mt.26:69 Now Peter sat without in the palace and a damsel came unto him saying thou also was with Jesus of Galilee. But he denied before them all saying I know not what thou sayest. 3a) And like a newborn baby Don’t be afraid to crawl And remember when we walk sometimes we fall, So, fall on Jesus, fall on Jesus, fall on Jesus and live Mt: 21: 71 And when he was gone out into the porch another maid saw him. and said unto them that where there, this fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth again he denied with an oath. I do not know the man. And after a while came unto him, they that stood by and said to Peter Surely, thou also are one of them, for thy speech betrayed thee. Then began he to curse and swear saying I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. And Peter remembered the words of Jesus which said unto Him. before the cock crow thou shall deny me thrice and he went out and wept bitterly 4a) Sometimes the way is lonely, And steep and filled with pain So if your sky is dark and pours the rain Then, Cry to Jesus, Cry to Jesus, Cry to Jesus and live Luke 23,34 Father forgive them for they know not what they do. 5a) And when the love spills over And music fills the night And when you can’t contain your joy inside Then Dance for Jesus Dance for Jesus Dance for Jesus and live 2) HYMN Lord of the Dance They cut me down and I leapt up high I am the life that’ll never never die And I’ll live in you, if you’ll live in me I am the Lord of the dance said “He” Dance, dance where ever you may be I am the Lord of the dance said He And Ill lead you all wherever you may be and I’ll lead you all in the Dance said, “He” 6a) And with your final heartbeat Kiss the world goodbye Then go in peace and laugh on Glory’s side And Fly to Jesus, fly to Jesus and fly to Jesus and Live Luke 23,39-43 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him saying if thou be Christ save thyself and us? But thee other answering rebuked him saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we justly , for we receive the due reward of our deeds.
