Archbishop Anne's Pastoral Letter to Algoma on the place of same sex marriage in the church5/26/2020 A Future Full of HopeNo matter how your day is going, songs can help give you a boost to carry on and continue, to look up, and to never give up. The following song is about having hope, hope in God and hope in love. Enjoy :) Catholic Education Week theme song - Igniting Hope Today we celebrate a future full of hope. We see how Jesus breathes hope into our world through His life, death and resurrection. We give thanks for the recognition that each day is a new day, and that the future offers us endless opportunities. God’s almighty power, infinite goodness and faithfulness to his promises are the pillars of our hope. A reading from the prophet Jeremiah (chapter 29) 11 I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. 12 Then you will call to me. 13 You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you. You will seek me, and you will find me, because you will seek me with all our heart. Followed by the New Covenant: Prophesy of the Future Covenant with Christ This is the ultament covenant, created and sealed in God's own blood, the covenant of LOVE. God is saying, "The time is coming when we are doing something new." The new covenant wouldn't happen for 500 years, but when it did it would extend through TODAY! This is the covenant that you are under, it's enjoyed by all people who know Jesus, eternal love and life through Jesus Christ. It's a picture of what we are waiting for, the True King who reigns with peace and justice, Jesus Christ. Closing Prayer: Loving God, you sent your son, Jesus, to be our hope. We feel his promised spirit at work within us. We recognize his risen presence among us as we gather in his name in prayer, and celebrate the Eucharist. He is the hope which inspires us to share as members of the Catholic educational community, in your Church’s mission to announce the Good News to the whole world. We thank you for the gift of Catholic education. May it continue to be a place where Christ ignites within us, an abiding confidence, in a future filled with hope. We make this prayer through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen+ We close in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen+ Closing Song: Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World Hope for the World "The World" can mean both the earth, as a common home, as well as our global community. These are very interconnected. Only through our awareness of and support for all can we build a world full of hope. Finding hope and inspiration through the courageous actions of others; overcoming self-doubt to develop resilience; recognizing that everyone has gifts and talents that can contribute to positive changes in the world. This is what the LORD asks of you: only this, to act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with GOD. ~ Micah 6:8

This is the hope and the burning in our hearts the we bring to the world. Sometimes when we face disappointment, sadness or loss, it is hope that strengthens us to see that joy will come again. Today, let us share the hope within us! Sharing the "Hope Within Us" was true for the apostles. They were very sad after Jesus died.
